Answer:
Yes! The PetStep ramp is designed for use through both the rear and side doors of your car, SUV, van, or truck. If using the ramp through your vehicleās side door, we strongly recommend the Side Door Entry Dog Ramp Kit. The kit includes the exclusive side entry strap that stabilizes the corner of the ramp that is not supported by your vehicleās back seat.Ā

The PetStep ramp is 70ā long and 17ā wide when deployed. The ramp folds down to 37ā long and 5.75ā in depth.Ā
Answer:
The PetStep ramp weighs 17.5 lbs. For comparison, lifting the PetStep ramp is much like lifting a medium-sized bag of dog food.Ā
Answer:
The weight capacity of the PetStep ramp is 500 lbs, so it will be able to support your dog regardless of breed or size!Ā
Answer:
Absolutely! The PetStep can be used anywhere comfortable for your pup. Our clients have used the ramp in vehicles, into boats, over steps, and up to beds, couches, and other furniture.Ā

If you want to clean your ramp, you can do so with water and a household cleanser like dish soap. You can also rinse down your ramp with a hose to remove any dirt/debris. Just let the ramp air dry before storing it.Ā
Answer:
The PetStep pool ramp is compatible with most pools with total depths (measured from pool bottom to top of the coping) from 42ā to 62ā.Ā Just be sure to order the proper pool leg length for your pool depth!Ā
Answer:
We offer two pool leg options: Standard and Long. Our Standard pool legs are ideal for pool depths from 42 to 52 inches deep, as they raise the poolside of the ramp by 23ā, creating a comfortable slope for your pup. This pool depth is measured from the pool floor to the top of the pool coping, not the depth of the water. For pools deeper than 52 inches, the Long leg kit is recommended to ensure that the ramp is not too steep so your dog can comfortably enjoy the pool!Answer:
Yes! As long as your above-ground pool has some sort of deck or platform surrounding it and is 42ā to 62ā deep, your pup will be able to use the PetStep ramp to enter and exit the pool.Ā
Answer:
Depends! Some clients have used the ramp to bridge the gap between the dock and the boat. Contingent upon the depth of the water, the ramp can be used from the bottom of the body of water to the boat. In another example, our client modified the pool ramp to fit their specific pontoon boat. In other applications, clients have used the ramp in deeper water by attaching buoys to the ramp. In summary, the ramp can successfully be used with a boat but its usage varies on a case-by-case basis. You can give us a call at 877-272-1707 and we will be able to go into more depth of how the ramp has been used with boats and offer you some guidance on whether itāll work with your application.Ā
Answer:
Similarly to the above question, the PetStep ramp can be used with docks on a case-by-case basis. The ramp can be used to bridge the dock and a boat, or it can be used off the side of the dock so your pup can access the water. The latter is dependent upon the depth of the water as well as the composition of the ground.
Answer:
The top edge of the PetStep ramp has non-slip rubberized feet that grip the side of your pool to stabilize it, so you do not need to do anything except place the ramp in the pool to use it. However, if you have a large and or especially active dog that likes to bound and jump on the ramp, it can cause the ramp to shift. To combat this, we recommend placing the ramp along the corner of your pool (if rectangular) or through the pool ladder (if applicable) to stabilize it. We also have an in-depth blog post about securing the ramp to your pool deck if youād like even more stabilization.Ā
Answer:
We do not advise leaving your PetStep ramp in the pool for extended periods of time. The chlorine in your pool can cause some discoloration to the ramp and legs. We recommend taking your ramp out of the pool after each use and hosing it down every once in a while to remove the chlorine.Ā
Answer:
The pool legs are constructed of aluminum because of its hard-wearing, rust-resistant, and lightweight properties. However, when exposed to chlorine, aluminum can begin to oxidize. This oxidation appears as white salt-like deposits on the pool legs. The deposits are completely harmless and do not interfere with the durability of the legs. The build-up can easily be removed with water and a scouring pad. This blog post details more info about this oxidation process as well as how to prevent and remove it.Ā
